Neonatal

9 Months

  • Parachute's reaction presents.
  • Bangs two/ three toys together.
  • Grasps crumbs with thumb/ index finger.
  • Tries  standing.
  • Stands supported.
  • Crawls or creeps on hands and knees.



By the end of 12 Months

  • Understands action words such as "give it to me".
  • Says two words including " Mama" and "Dada".
  • Stands alone.
  • Walks with one hand held for support.
  • Waves "bye-bye".



19 - 24 Months

  • Puts 3 words together.
  • Listens to stories with pictures.
  • Turns pages by self.
  • Imitates household tasks.
  • Helps to undress.
  • Handles spoon well.
  • Builds six block tower with 'LEGO' toys.
  • Imitates horizontal strokes.
  • Scribbles in a circular pattern.
  • Walks up and down stairs, one step at a time.
  • Runs well with stability.
  • Stands on request from sitting position on the floor.



31 - 42 Months

  • Spontaneous speech, 75% understandable.
  • Uses 'no', in relation to whatever object is named.
  • Holds pencil in finger rather than in hand.
  • Imitates drawing horizontal, vertical or circular strokes.
  • Builds tower of nine blocks.
  • Snips at paper with scissors.
  • Catches large ball at 5 feet (1 -3 tries).
  • Pedals tricycle.
  • Attempts climbing stairs, alternates feet, holds rail.
  • Stands on one foot.



By 48th Month

  • Able to follow command.
  • Cooperates with other children.
  • Builds a tower of 12 blocks.
  • Kicks a ball.
  • Spontaneous speech, that is mostly understandable to others.
